Musical introduction:

1.
By this Windows box I sit,
Thinking dear old DOS, of you,
And our happy crashless times so far away,
Activation fills my eyes,
Spite of all that I can do,
With Bill Gates announcing rent we're going to pay.

(CHORUS)
Tramp, tramp, tramp, penguins advancing,
Watch out Billy, they will come.
And amongst the pair shaped birds,
We shall own our box again,
In the free-land of our Linux OS home.

2.
On the FUD war Front we stood
When Micro$oft's Lies they made,
And they swallowed us ten million users more,
But before they made us rent
They heard a sound that dismayed,
A victory cry of penguins at their door.

(CHORUS)
Tramp, tramp, tramp, penguins advancing,
Watch out Billy, they will come.
And amongst the pair shaped birds,
We shall own our box again,
In the free-land of our Linux OS home.

3.
So before this Windows box,
I am waiting for the day
ThaY shall come and open Billy's toll gate door,
With a future free and bright,
Where there is no rent to pay,
As we own our data and our box once more.

(CHORUS)
Tramp, tramp, tramp, penguins advancing,
Watch out Billy, they will come.
And amongst the pair shaped birds,
We shall own our box again,
In the free-land of our Linux OS home.

Coral Snake, you take quite a chance choosing to use such works to parody. I expect a lot of folks will see the titles and just zoom on by. Their loss. I see you do a lot by Henry Clay Work. I know of him since he wrote "The Ship That Never Returned" - one of the more parodied Civil War era songs. (e.g. "Super Skier" and "M.T.A.) and I recently wrote a parody of it for a performance at my church (The Elder Who Never Returned). I also recognized this title. I collect hymnals (I have almost three hundred) and this tune was adapted for "Jesus Loves the Little Children" and the LDS "In Our Lovely Deseret." I notice that you use a lot of these older songs (some of which may well be recognizable to most folks, if they just listen to the midi) so you clearly have a background or at least an interest in these older works. I will have to pay more attention to what you are writing. It's good to see people doing parodies of songs that might otherwise be forgotten. I think there is a natural link, odd though it may seem, between the study of hymnody and of parody. In both cases established tunes are often given new words - frequently keeping much of the original intact. Anyway, don't get me started - lol! Nice work! A little off on the rhyming and pacing but still worth high marks!
