The Lyrics

You know Bashful and Dopey and Sneezy and Grumpy
Happy and Sleepy and Humpty the Dumpty
You may not recall,
Her most dame-ness elf of them all.

Aunt Elve the big eared elf aunt,
Didn't have no tiny ears.
And if you ever saw them,
You could say they had no peers.
She had a well-tuned trained ear,
She could hear a mime's played game.
She won't forget this Aunt Elve,
Elf aunt's memory's her fame.

Lobe eared floppy dish-net chief,
Santa's said to say.
"Aunt Elve how you hear so clear,
Where'd you get them buckin-ears?"

She's got her trained ears plugged in,
Where the weather's out is key.
Elf Aunt is said knows rain's near,
Or the weather's blistery.

---- Instrumental Interlude ----

Aunt Elve is said knows rain's near,
Ears are very finely honed.
All of the weather calls it,
Doesn't need a weather stone.
All of the little elves here,
She's their aunt as they all claim.
They dearly love their Aunt Elve,
She's the girl with ears that aim.

She got groggy Christmas Eve,
Fanta mixed with rum.
Aunt Elve, why's your ears so bright?
Hope my heck the weather's light.

Then all the reindeer shoved in,
They're flyin' blind on Christmas Eve.
Aunt Elve the flop eared elf aunt,
Should be out on admin leave.

---- Another Instrumental Interlude ----

Aunt Elve had too much grain cheer,
Now she has a shiny nose.
The weather chart can't draw it,
Can't tell if it's clear or snows.
They don't know - is the range clear?
Weather girl has come down lame,
What can we do for Aunt Elve?
What if Christmas never came?

But this foggy weather elf,
Hears no sounds this day.
Aunt Elve with your ears offline,
How we get our weather sign?

Let's get those flopped ears plugged in,
Fill her up with hot coffee.
Aunt Elve the red eared did hear,
Nothing on aud-it-ory.

Santa and reindeer loved her,
With regained sobriety.
Because that flopped eared elf dear,
Knew the weather's clarity.

Because that flopped eared elf dear,
Makin' sure we're Christmassy.
Because that flopped eared elf dear,
Makin' sure we're Christ-mas-syyyyyyyyyy...

I have big ears and I take exception to this humorous take on people with big ears. I'm still giving it 555 though. :-)

Pat - My oldest son can tell by his joints when it is going to rain which is usually a rare occassion in South Texas. He is right most of the time. I had a 1986 Oldsmobile that would occasionally display the check engine light for no apparent reason except rain always followed within 12 hours. I went into work one day and the light was on. I asked around the office if anyone had their windows down. My friend Lloyd had the worst look on his face when someone came in from outside to announced a downpour.

Rick - Don't feel bad. I have a large nose - It's pure Italian the rest of me is only half Italian.

Thanks John B. Glad you approve.

alvin - We actually need a new Christmas character at the North Pole - It's probably been 50 years since Rudolph was thought up and he is probably the last - so why can't it be Aunt Elf? Thanks.

AFW - Thank you my friend.

MrM - It wasn't all that clever. I actually got the thought watching something on the History channel and they were doing a bit on pirates and described where the term "Buckaneers" came about. One thing led to another and Aunt Elf was born.

It was a fun write and I enjoyed entertaining you all. Thanks!!!
