Song Parodies -> "Pluto the Dwarf Planet"

Original Song Title:

"Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer"

Original Performer:

Gene Autry

Parody Song Title:

"Pluto the Dwarf Planet"

Parody Written by:

Orion

The Lyrics

You know Mercury, Venus, and Earth, and Mars
Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune
But do you recall
The furthest planet of all?

Pluto, the smallest planet
Was the planet numbered nine
Until the IAU said
That "it wasn't going fine"

All of the astronomers
Didn't like his weird orbit
They never let poor Pluto
Join in since 2006

In the foggy Kuiper Belt
Very far away
Pluto, with his very small size
As a dwarf planet, he fits just right

Then all the planets loved him
as they shouted out with glee:
"Pluto, the dwarf planet,
you'll go down in history!"

As the self appointed coach to Amiright newbies, I am obliged to make two points .. #1. Your first line has a serious error in what we call pacing. You subbed the two syllable "red-NOSED" word with one syllable "dwarf". You can get away with this at times but not here because "NOSED" is the most emphasized syllable in the first line, so your first line doesn't sing like the original at all. Fortunately, there are words that would work: dwar-FISH, half-LING, el-FIN, and the one that works best of all .. pip-SQUEEK ...... Point #2 How did I come up with all those words? Well, to tell you the truth: I cheated. I used a website called "Rhymezone" which gives you every rhyme to a word that exists. There is also a link called "Thesaurus" -- where I found every one of these subs for "dwarf"
