Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"Limeys To The Moon!"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Why the UK has never really embraced the Space Race....Every British stereotype thrown in here...it's all in good fun, honestly!
Limeys to the moon
Tea and scones in outer space
Knotted handkerchiefs and brolleys
Everything's in place

Now they've just heardweather's bad
In other wordsquite like Sheffield

Helmets shaped like bowlers
And their spacesuits made of tweed
Bad teeth may get straightened
When they're zero gravity-ed

Stiff upper lips.tally hoo!
For lunar tripsform a queue

(Instrumental)

Sing "God Save The Queen"
Drink rehydrated G&Ts
A game of cricket upon
The Sea of Tranquility

Brits should have gonebut they're due
Permission fromthe EU

Good show, old chap. Reminds me of what Michael Flanders used to say: "Whenever we as a nation do something good, it's, 'Another triumph for Great Britain!' Otherwise, it's, 'England loses again!'"

Cricket in 1/6 gravity could be interesting. Hope they do a better job than Alan Shepard did in lunar golf.

ah, very nice, Kristof! - plug those stereotypes, I always say - although I recall Wallace and Gromit being a very English couple who flew to the moon in much the manner you describe - just coz they ran out of gorgonzola for their tea and bikkies, if I recall - 555

Thanks Michael, Steve, Stu, Al, LLLB and AFW. This was a quickie done in response to Australia getting whipped by England in the cricket...I was having an Anti-Pom day. It's a bit one-dimensional, but....meh, it'll do until I have a better idea! ;-)

If that's true, I might have to start flirting with the ones guy. You KNOW how I love a sexy accent...=)

Sorry to Not know the OS well enough to vote, but I loved the title, and had to look in. Good job (as always?)

The majority of this parody figuratively flew over my head, as most space crafts would literally do... there's gotta be a better way to structure that last sentance... anyhow, no points taken off because it's my own damn fault I don't get most of the humor... and in my case it acts as a figurative metaphor so nice one Kristof... my head hurts.
