There’s a buzz that’s told ‘bout a very great swim team
Spending all efforts as to live up to their dreams
Y Stingrays is their name
A downright phenomenal team to beat
Till a bombastic judge one day at a meet
Put them all to shame

He told them them their butterfly was bad as dirt
And he made all the teens feel so desperately hurt
To swim an IM ain’t easy to do
Then he wrote a zero and Olympic dreams are crushed

A tough stroke to master

For they need the gold

Practices turn into meets
Meets turn into tournaments
And as they kick and they flip
They sweat and cry

The coach and fans know that they’ll be hopeful
I’m sure that they might be splashing high
But if they fail though to try
They all shall cry
