The Lyrics
When the Allies went to take Naples and Foggia Airfield there was fierce fighting in the city as well as the Allies bombing campaign. Kesselring ordered that churches and monasteries be spared but everything else was to be destroyed in an orderly withdrawl. The German Army and SS demolished everything in thier path. The electrical grid, all water sources, all rail transport lines, all communications centers, and the city itself was torched. SS crews lined up civilians and killed them as well as former Axis Italian soldiers, showing no mercy. German guns pounded every target they could so that when the Allies arrived Naples was in ruin. And it was. Although the harbor was opened within 1 week and 7000 tons of supplies poured in per day, it took many months of rebuilding to get back to some semblence of normalcy. The Allies had to feed 800,000 people and took 12,500 casualties in the fighting (more for complete Operation Avalanche). The Germans withdrew north and continued to fight with rebel Italian land and air forces.

What Pacing Police said. Also why not include a Neapolitan element or two for blending and contrast?
Wasn't "Orderly withdrawl" a maneuver practiced most extensively by retreating Confederate forces during the Civil War?
