Song Parodies -> "Frank And Franken"

Original Song Title:

"Love And Marriage"

Original Performer:

Frank Sinatra

Parody Song Title:

"Frank And Franken"

Parody Written by:

Old Man Ribber

The Lyrics

Representative Barney Frank (D-Mass.) and Senator Al Franken (D-Minn.) together? Why not! Both are spectacularly unfunny. ;D

Frank and Franken, Frank and Franken
On their votes the President is bankin'
One is Bay State Barney
And one's pure Minnesota blarney
Frank and Franken, Frank and Franken
Among liberals they're both high-rankin'
One is quite vindictive
Thank gawd the other's not addictive

In the Congress both are lurking
Without a schism
Both are strenuously working
For socialism

Frank and Franken, Frank and Franken
They will keep Obama's plans from tankin'
Both are rather bilious
And oh-so-very supercilious

(Instrumental break to bridge)

They won't let the country drift an inch
Beyond the left wing
They'll put all taxpayers in a pinch
Because it's their thing

Al and Barney, Al and Barney
They're as sly as any sideshow carney
Shout it from the steeple
Us folks they'll soak - They're full of hoke
The final joke is on the people
;D

Barney talks like Donald Duck and Al's byline is: "Im good enough, I'm smart enough and darn it, people like me". Al was so totally unfunny on SNL when he was featured. And what's up with Minnesota - you'd a thunk they learned their lesson with Jesse Ventura. Now they got a carpet bagger New York Jew representing them. "vat yew can't get elected in New Yowalk or sumtin'? Brillian match up with the Frankenstein brothers parody. Love it.

Very good title and very good rhyming. Knowing that Representative Frank is in a district where he cannot possibly lose an election and that Senator Franken is going to be serving 5 1/2 more years is not funny, but this parody is.

Great tune-smithing, OMR...I can hardly wait 'til Fox picks up this treatment for their new fall lineup!

@Guy DiRito: Much as I agree with all points made in the parody, I don't think that either candidate's religion should have been made an issue, nor satirized by derogatory mimickry. Would you care to reconsider?

TT - I meant it as no disrespect to the Jewish people. I have always admired them. Once I boarded a flight in Tucson, Az. I was sitting 3/4 way back on at a window seat. About seven Mid East speaking men took up all the seats around me. I heard their tongue and thought it may be Arabic. I'll admit I felt uneasy, this was back in 2002. I listened carefully to their words and sure enough I managed to glean a few Hebrew sounding words from their conversations After the flight was off the ground I said something to the guy next tome to break the ice. I came to find out that they were all members of the Israeli Air Force and were returnng to Israel from an Air Base in Tucson where they had just completed a military flying exercise. I had quite a pleasant conversation with them on that flight. They were all fighter jocks. I was never so happy to find my Jewish brethern among me at that time.

I knew better than to put that label on Franken, but he just gives his people a bad rep. and I was expecting some flack from the remark It's my bad and I'll take the heat for it. Also I believe that he moved to Minnesota for political ambitions making him a carpet bagger. He seems to me like the Jews in Hitler's camps whom he made his police. And you are correct, his ethnicity should never have been mentioned. I was just a slip of (if you will) the thumb. May I be forgiven for the comment and if not I will submit to have it removed. Your call.

I considered asking to have it removed, but thought it better to express my concerns and give you a chance to express yours. Glad I did.

Appreciate the apology, and think it's better to leave the comment (else the apology is puzzling). It still sort of sounded like you only liked the Jewish men after you found out that they were military like yourself, although I'm sure that's not what you meant.

Agree about the carpetbagging, and you've just described former "New York" (lol) Senator Hillary Clinton perfectly. Hope you have a good sarcastic shot for her (seriously).

I don't see that being a democratically-elected Senator is equivalent to becoming a psychotic dictator's police, nor that Minnesota compares to Hitler's camps. So now you owe Minnesota an apology LOL! .... really, the analogy was flawed. An analogy to H. Clinton would have been funny. ... For the record, I too never found Franken to be funny, nor politically-qualified either. You're sharp enough to puncture him without the irrelevant issues -- I know that for a fact. Cheers.

" But Fred, does it have that 'Yaba . . Daba . . Doo ?," said Barney.
