Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"After I've Gone"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

After I've Gone..I'm talkin' dyin'
After I've Gone...won't be much cryin'
I'll be blue..cold as a shad
I'll miss the dearest pal that I ever had..

That time will come...who can forget it?
They'll say, "That bum!" most won't regret it
Some day, who knows exactly,
Two lines of "Obit" they'll write, matter of fact-ly
After I've Gone...After I've Gone...away

After I've Passed...from this old norm world
Embalmed and cast...down in that worm world
They'll stand...over my coffin
Old friends and fam'ly...who have not seen me often
After I've Gone...After I've Gone...away

After I've Gone...Don't think I'll need wings
Fam'ly will come...big fight for my things
Someday..when I meet my plight sod
They'll read the will and say, "My God, what a tightwad!"
After I've Gone...After I've Gone...away

After I've Gone...After I've Gone...away

This has gotta be the very essence of graveyard humor ... not to mention a delightfully clever use of the OS.

AFW, this parody contains excellent graveyard humor, as Stan said, and it made me laugh for what seems like the umpteenth time. By the way, how do you know about all of these old songs? You said that you were retired in a parody comment last year or thereabouts, and you must be at least in your mid-sixties to know about some of the OSes that you have rewritten. I don't mean to be offensive at all when I say that. 5s.

Thanks, to Stan, John, alvin, Guy, and Andria..I generally, (Oops, I said General Lee, now I'll have to give the yankees equal time by saying, General Grant ), answer question pertaining to my age, in this fashion: "I'm old enough to know better, but still young enough not to give a hoot.."
