Parody Song Title:

"You Know That It's Futile To Resist Us"

Parody Written by:

Guy DiRito

The Lyrics

You know that it's futile to resist us,
Just accept your plight.
Mem-o-ry in bubbles,
Get you thinking right.

Yes you know it's futile to resist us,
It's the Borg tried way.
From now on you'll double,
As a cache array,

Forget about your olden days,
You're holdin' trays in core.
Eight mule friends who will steer with us,
You'll be eight of nine, drone Borg.

Through light years,
We always stay together.
All you eights avow,
Chart some shining stars.
And point this star ship's bow,
And lose yourself.
It's futile to resist us now.

Forget about your olden days,
You're holdin'trays in core.
Eight mule friends who will steer with us,
You'll be eight of nine, drone Borg.

Through light years,
We always stay together.
All you eights avow,
Chart some shining stars.
And point this star ship's bow,
And lose yourself.
It's futile to resist us now.

Nothing gets me in the mood for the Holidays like a Borg Christmas tune. Live long and prosper. (My apologies to my Vulcan brethren.)

Not bad, Guy, but in case you didn't notice, guy, Captain Jane... excuse me, Admiral Janeway destroyed them. And while Frank sang it (What the hell, he sang everything else, and was even appreciated on Star Trek, at least on Deep Space Nine), I think this one goes back to Judy Garland in "Meet Me In St. Louis," stardate 1944. And Johnny, if you keep making bad Trek puns, I'm gonna toss you in the brig with nothing to read but some of Spock's research papers and nothing to eat but gagh. You'll be hauling me into a court-martial claiming "Torture!" faster than you can say "Space Family Robinson." Or maybe I actually like those jokes and I'm just venting plasma.

Guy, I really like the juxtaposition of warm and fuzzy Xmas tune with the Borg! What's next, Klingon opera? Oh, it's been done. And nobody dies in Trek.

Hmmm, Klingon opera, now that may have possibilities. Thanks all for enjoying and commenting.

Hey Guy, what does Futile mean? I've never heard that word before...
Webster Abridged - September 05, 2004 - Report this comment
Janessa - Futile defined:

Futile:

fu·tile [ fyoot'l ]

adjective

1. in vain: with no practical effect or useful result

2. frivolous: lacking serious value, substance, or a sense of responsibility

[Mid-16th century. From Latin futilis “leaky, worthless.” Ultimately from an Indo-European base meaning “to pour,” which is also the ancestor of English fuse1 and gush.]

ha, HAA. But I am CAPTAIN SOMEBODY and I don't know the meaning of the word 'futile'... I try not to use big words on my quest to save the galaxy. It makes my head hurt. I am CAPTAIN SOMEBODY and I cannot allow that.
