Yes, I remember the original with Frankie Laine. Your pacing was excellent - sound effects and all.
2Eagle has it spelled right: It's Frankie Laine, with an extra i, real name Francis Paul LoVecchio, and he just turned 92. The Chicago native also sang the themes from "Gunslinger," "Rango," "The Misadventures of Sheriff Lobo" and, of course, "Blazing Saddles." One of these days, I'm gonna have to do one of his songs on this site.
