While North Korea continues to threaten us with nuclear annihilation, and the US territories of Puerto Rico and The Virgin Islands struggle to dig out from the wreckage of a hurricane, Americans are distracted by football players kneeling during the National Anthem. Why not have the announcer state that they are kneeling in prayer and invite the fans to join them. That should get them on their feet in a hurry.

Football players Thursday night?
Were so loudly assailed
By The Donald's last tweeting
Brought cracked skulls and life's scars
To political fight
For the most part we watched
Searched their actions for meaning
And the fans who weren't there
Gave the owners a scare
And the question arises: will sponsors still care?
Took a knee while the Star Spangled Banner was waved
Protest righteous and free, or a gesture depraved?
