The Lyrics

Yesterday I asked for an idea for a sushi parody. I come up with this. Besides the global warming, we Finns like sushi as well.
Roll up a little sushi - roll up!
Roll up a little sushi - roll up!
Now spread up the seaweed sheet, add up some rice, that's neat
add in the shrimps , roll with bamboo mat, it's sushi kind of treat -

chorus:
Roll up a little sushi,
it's making maki-sushi
Well - that're we gonna serve your mama, that're we gonna serve your papa
That we gonna serve our friends and pour some - saki on,
Roll up little a sushi, it's making maki-sushi

Well, I cooked more rice and sliced up fish
It's time to prepare a seafood dish
Roll up a little sushi, roll up a little sushi -
it's party at home

Press up a little sushi, press up!
Press up a little sushi, press up!
IIt's nigiri on the row, add on the salmon and roe,
clam and cuttlefish, it sure is a nice dish, it's tasty we sure know

it's time to make some sushi,
a litle more sushi
Well - that're we gonna serve your mama, that're we gonna serve your papa
That we gonna serve our friends and pour some - saki on,
Press up little a sushi, making nigiri-sushi

Well, I cooked more rice and sliced up fish
It's time to prepare a seafood dish
Roll up a little sushi, pressl up a little sushi -
it's party at home!
Maki-sushi is the "rolled up" sushi, while nigiri-sushi is the "pressed", two-layer sushi. I usually prepare my nigiri with 1 cm wide nori (seaweed) belt around to ease grabbing with chopsticks.

I just loved the sushi-for-Suzie switch, Susanna - that got me smiling from the start - 555

555, although I found this parody a bit raw ( and all sushi needs wasabiko ( wasabi sauce ) to make in incinerate my nostrils ). :)

Mmm, fresh, not fishy! But if you ever want to break your sushi habit, just read my parody of the original song "Hot Blooded" and my parody of the original song "Everybody Plays The Fool" ... you might never eat sushi again after reading those two parodies.

I don't much care for sushi myself, but this is a creative parody! 5-5-5 =)

Kristof: No, that would tip the Scales on the poor side. But certainly anything without Fin[n]s and off-Scales is not kosher!

I lived in Tokyo back a few years ago when sushi was not something Americans ate. I guess I was more adventurous than my fellow Americans who were living there at the time and I developed a taste for it. Your parody brought all this back to me. Maybe a spin off parody called, I ate sushi when sushi wasn't cool. Thanks Susanna for bringing back some fond memories.

Very tasty parody, Susanna. You might enjoy sampling my "Bonafide Maki Roll" to the tune of "Old Time Rock and Roll" by Bob Seger.
