The Lyrics
A song, actually, that was a parody of parody (so this is a quadruple parody) of a song from the Civil War. The original, wrote in commemoration of Union troops taking Charleston, SC, is boastful and swaggering. I thought it fit the mood of the election.
O have you heard the glorious news, it’s the cry from every mouth!
Washington is taken, and the liberals put to rout;
And Hillary the Democrat, she ran to save her bacon –
When she heard President Trump had won, and “Washington is taken!”
With a whack-rowdy-dow!
How are you elitist media!?
Whack-rowdy-dow!
You called the race too soon!
This heavy-handed arrogance, that once did loudly gloat:
“That for the Grand Old Party, No American would vote!”
They sneered and jeered, they laughed and cheered, they spread their vicious rumors,
But when November ninth came round, they lost of all their humor!
With a whack-rowdy-dow!
You look so awfully shaken!

It’s now our time to laugh!
And from their safe-space bastions, this “stoic”, liberal throng,
Skedaddled in confusion, tough they thought they were so strong!
