The Lyrics

The legend goes on.
Well since I've been a sailor
I've heard the old timers tell
Beware the witch of Superior
As waves start to swell

The winds will start blowin', matey
They will start blowin'
When they start blowin', you could die

If the vessel's overloaded
You'll founder in the gloom
Those broken bulkheads flooding
The ship will be your tomb

The hull will start twisting, matey
It will start listing
When it goes missing, you could die

Well, the crew is at their stations
The Captain's at the helm
As the waves begin to drag the ship
Way down to Davy Jones's realm

The ship will start sinking, matey
It will start sinking
When it starts sinking, you could die

The only question remaining
Will it be heaven or hell?
Families at the chapel will meet
Where they'll ring the bell

They'll all be feeling so lonely
So sad and lonely
They'll be so lonely, they will cry

Sorry, Patrick, I was going to say something nice about this parody, but now, all I'll remember about it is John's atrocious pun. It was so corny, I could die.

Your "If Jimmy Webb Wrote Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" has been the most inspiring thing I've seen here all year. Not sure I'll miss my part in it when I bring it to my logical conclusion. That depends on how I count a couple of songs that don't precisely "Fitz".

Patrick - Good job. Stan Freberg's take on Heartbreak Hotel may also interest you. ;D
