The Lyrics

4th time's a charm? Will be recorded later.
Now Billie Quit from high school, but he didn't fail
Formed his own band and it's punk they wailed
Street performance next to the Offsping
I swear I don't get every word they sing

Punk Rock, California, Now Shocked
Billie Joe sho' not a jock
Keep giving up the Nimrod Rock

Reprise Records signed him, 21 years old,
Not their first record but the one that sold
The drummer may have left 'em but they found Tre Cool
Guitar Mike Dirnt sounds really cool

Punk Rock, I ain't kidding, Kerplunk
No Dookie as I sing this junk
We're screamin' for the Nimrod Rock

Billie's always singing 'bout Minorities
Screamin' bought his childhood when he's the king
I sure am happy when he's live you see
Screaming in the Nimrod Rock he'll be

Let's Punk, St. Jimmy, Let's Punk
Stop listening to hip hop crunk
We're screaming to the Nimrod Rock

Now Billie he was eating, but nothin' on a bone
He doesn't like no chicken, he leaves meat alone
But Billie isn't silly, but he likes to swear
If you think I'm just kidding, buy his album there

Punk rock, Heed the Warning, Punk Rock
His new stuff rising up his stock
We're chantin' now the Nimrod Rock

Insomniac he's bugging, likes to stay up late,
Kissed another dude on his concert date
Billie faced the crowd and he said, let's kick,
Married Adrienne and he had two kids

Punk Rock, He is screamin', Punk rock.
American Idiot shocks
Let's scream it, DO THE NIMROD ROCK

Screaming to the Nimrod Rock
Screaming to the Nimrod Rock
Screaming to the Nimrod Rock
to fade.

(Ages) I could have sworn I popped a few words of commentary here last week...did they get lost in the server shuffle? Well anyhow, a loving tribute to a damn good band.

I don't know much about Nimrod, but this was pretty well-written, which is would have to be in order to get the attn of The Amiright Onester.

You know this one touches me in ways that none of your other parodies have touched me before. Not because it was emotional ridden, but the fact that you were still able to write something this funny, and break out of the shell that you found yourself in made me even more glad that I helped you to do this one.

(AGES) Brilliant tribute to an awesome band. Is the parody named after their album 'Nimrod'? Or am I missing something?
Below Average Dave - June 18, 2007 - Report this comment
Most certainly named after Nimrod

(Ages) Putting "cool" twice was a bit cheap, but otherwise this was a nice little biography.
Below Average Dave - June 20, 2007 - Report this comment
Well , the first cool is actually part of someone's name, but yeah. . .that's true.
