The Lyrics

My mother, bless her heart
Washed me, every part
When I was a lad,
Cleanest skin, I had
Rubbed red like a shad..

I thought someday I'd find
I would grow up blind
My eyes burned like fire,
Moms don't realize..
Soap gets in your eyes..

Where's the towel at?
Tons of tears would come
Looked like I was crying hard..
She would say,
Put those tears away
"Mom I am trying hard.."

Now,
When I bathe my child
I use soap that's mild,
Gentleness applies
Watching suds don't rise,
So no soap's in his eyes...

Soap gets in your eyes..

Soap gets in your eyes..

5 bars of Ivory for you!

I enjoyed this parody very much, and I always got soap in my eyes as a child during baths. Nowadays, I frequently get shampoo and conditioner in my eyes when washing my hair, and I often get car-wash soap and soap-based garden chemicals in my eyes too. I'm lucky I haven't gone blind by now! Here are some more 5s.

This OS gets soap in my eyes as well. Even tearless shampoo made my eyes sting as a child. I can relate to Andria's situation very well. Here's 555 bubbles floating over you. Don't let those get in your eyes!

At the risk of sounding like a wimp, I have to admit that I still use baby shampoo when I shower - beats not being able to see for a couple hours afterward...Great title switch and parody...555!!!
