This was partly made as a request from a friend of mine, who wanted a parody about Molly McIntire's recent archival from American Girl's historical doll lineup.
I couldn't vouch on what they said
Retirement fears' abound my head
What Mattel did was blasphemy
To relegate kids' history
This is something I despise
A move that isn't wise
Ditched Molly McIntire
Modern dollies make me sigh
Same with G.O.T.Y.*
I want Miss McIntire

* - Referring to the "Girl Of The Year" lineup, where AG would release a contemporary character depicted as having a special talent like ballet, horseback riding and other interests a typical girly-girl would be into.
** - James McIntire shipped out to serve as a US Army doctor in the Molly series of books, to which some AG fans can relate to, i.e. those with their parents working overseas.
*** - Kit Kittredge was a tomboy in the books, and had a distaste for what she considers as "flouncy", like puffy dresses and the colour pink, and it was so out-of-character for her to have pink dresses in her collection, as what the company released recently.
