The Lyrics
A compilation of some of the most odd weapons of WW2- the lesser-known ones. Germans had sound, vortex, and wind cannons, armed kites, flying grenades, bent barrel attachments, Megatanks, etc... while Britain had an icecube carrier project, the Panjandrum, sticky grenade, rotochute, etc... Japanese had balloon bombs, crawling armor, lunge mines, etc... and there were US bat bombs, Russian dog mines, Italian explosive speedboats, and on and on...

They planned on killing Nazis
With grenade carrots!
In the poor Warsaw Ghetto
Jews used improvised weapons

Who was a daring blacksmith
Designed a magnetic horseshoe
To attack German tanks with

A funny paddle tank
To be used on D-Day

Wondered if they could do it
Down German cavalry
Volley-fired wooden bullets!!!

They all were insane
But most saw some combat

Have you ever heard of a bird-guided bomb? I think that might have been the Second World War. And there were some remote-controlled B-17s too! Nice list of the crazies!
A fellow I know uncovered a US plan to train dogs to smell Japanese soldiers hiding in caves and attack them. They actually set up a base on an obscure island and used Japanese American volunteers as test targets to teach the dogs to spot "Japs". The fellow who came up with the idea turned out to be somewhat of con man himself, and the idea never proved to be workable. But hundreds of thousands of dollars were spent exploring the idea. You can look it up on PBS "History Detectives".
