Parody Song Title:

"Who Wants To Breathe The Martian Air?"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Inspired partly by the news that GWB wants to put a man on Mars, and partly by my visit yesterday, with my children, to the National Space Science Centre in Leicester...
Who'd like to be
Interplanet'ry?

Leave the rat race
And fly through space?

To leave behind their cares and cars
And be the first to walk on Mars?

Who wants to breathe the Martian air? (I do)
Fly thirty million miles out there? (I do)
Who wants to spend over a year without weight?
(A year without weight? To me, that sounds great!)
Who wants to eat pre-packaged paste (I do...)
And drink their own recycled waste (I do?)
Spend years in celibacy confined?
(I do? No I don't - I think I've changed my mind)

Who wants to breathe the Martian air? (I don't)
Living without a bill or care? (I don't..)
24-hour channel on the TV
(A channel for me? Well, I say "Whoopee!")
Who wants to be the most renowned? (I don't?)
The famousest astronaut around? (I don't??)
A homecoming we will toast with Champagne?
(I don't??? No, I do - I've changed my mind again)

Who wants to breathe the Martian air? (well, maybe)
Play two million games of solitaire (look, I'm not so sure about...)
Cameras rolling, even when on the loo?
(When I'm on the loo? *Everything* I do?)
Who wants all that cash to earn? (well, now you're talking)
Odds may be that you won't return (umm... err..)
But what makes you think they'll be asking you?
(I don't, and they won't because I'm only two)

Thanks M&P :-) Must admit that I'm surprised in a way that not more people have had a look at this one... maybe the ol' show tunes are just a little too ol'

Now will somebody do like Mel Brooks and make a feature film for that song. It would be an improvement over that stupid movie. At least try doing a parody of "True Love".
