Original Song Title:

"When You Wish Upon A Star"

Original Performer:

Cliff Edwards ( Pinocchio )

Parody Song Title:

"When I Fished Alone For Gars"

Parody Written by:

Dave W.

The Lyrics

Although Disneys original film song is outstanding, I needed to go with a longer version, for the extra verse...Many excellent performances by popular artists have covered it.....I was just messin' with ya when I threw a line out for the title
When Irish old gents raise jars
Mind their temperance, mind their spars
Tenors sing songs long admired
" Eileen Aroon "

Take me home again Kathleen
When Irish eyes are smiling
Mens eyes mist " Erin Go Bragh "
They always do....

Luck you'll find
Yes, siree - Begorrah !
When you're a'lookin' o'er
A four leaf clover.....

Old chums face - moustache curls true
New joke poet, livens crew
" Damn stylish - red handlebars "
Red Riders too....

(instrumental fake)

They've made noise a time or two
And kissed the Blarney stone, Did you ?
Friends I'd wish for, befriend thars...
Aren't rainbow fools.......

So, there are no Gar..good...I guess they're mostly gar-bage fish anyway..at least, where I've fished...I like your Irish, though

"And the balance of the day to yourself", John Lomain....I.love the comradery of Irish folk and their dialects... The ancient isle is quite the jewel and the hardy inhabitants have seen more than a share of hard times in just about every generation..I didn't want to make light of them in that sort of way...Not being a part of their group, I hope my exaggerations weren't disrespectful ...Thanks to all who took the time to vote or comment and to those who wanted to see what the fuss was about....Hey,AFW, translated was that - no gar, so good ?..Lifeliver - I'm now an unofficial member of the Writin' Irish till I'm contacted by the Garda ( I had to look up who they were, JB )
