Parody Song Title:

"Old Professor Dumbledore"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Old Professor Dumbledore's lived a long time
He's a wizard who's seen many students come and go.
He's considered by many the greatest wizard of modern time.
And that is the Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Wizardry

Old Dumbledore's pays alimony to nine wives
And more - I am tempted to say ninety-nine.
And he does give generous child support
And is proud he's still young where it counts.

The great hall grows silent when the headmaster enters.
Then he addresses the entire room with great sincerity.

The eldest of wizards croaks
Well, of all things, another school year's begun.
Alas! Yes! No! It must be so!
First year students please take note, that the
Dark Forest is strictly off bounds.

Old Professor Dumbledore sits in his office
He pretends to listen as Professor Snape drones on.
It seems that young Harry's has done it again.
And to Snape's astonishment, Harry is set free.

The students of Hogwarts may try to misbehave.
Those who try to fool their headmaster will find
nothing gets past him, and they may even receive
plenty of detention.

Albus Dumbledore is one hundred and sixty five
but he doesn't look a day past one hundred twenty.

The eldest of wizards croaks
Well, of all things, another school year's begun.
Alas! Yes! No! It must be so!
First year students please take note, that the
Dark Forest is strictly off bounds.

Well, of all things, another school year's begun.
Alas! Yes! No! It must be so!

I maybe a bit tottery, but I'm not slow
You better be careful of Professor Dumbledore!

Kim West.

Wow, We must be sharing brain waves. Either that or it's magic. Kim I'll send you 5,5,5 owls.

Hi Matthias! Thank you for the comment and for your fives. I was just visiting your lovely song and have done the same. I hope to see more songs from you soon. ^-^

I don't know the original song, but I like Harry Potter and I thought this was very clever, Kim. Not really funny, but clever. The movie parodies are my favorite.

Thank you Jeff, it is always good to hear feedback. I had another song about Malfoy that hasn't received any attention at all. I was afraid that there wouldn't be much interest in "Harry Potter" songs.

Hi Matthias. I've just spent some time going over a few of your wonderful songs. I don't have nearly as many songs that you do but you are most welcome to visit my songs on the Parody Authors section. Umm…I may have accidentally given you ones on your song "Quierll Had To Die." That was not my intension, so if I am the person who gave you those ones I will gladly re-vote or e-mail the webmaster. Please let me know.

Took your advice to check this out...don't know the original song, but it was enjoyable to read, and you certainly know your Potter! I've managed one (shameless plug coming) Potter parody myself (Lupin tune of Luka) if you'd like to check it out.

I liked it too (shamefacedly admitting that I actually enjoy 'Cats' as a whole).

I'm glad you enjoyed this Jeff. The original song and lyrics gives one the sense that the eldest of cats is both wise and gentle. All cats look up to him in very much the same way that the students do for Dumbledore. In many ways they are both one and the same. Oh, I just left you a review for your song Lupin. It brought a smile to my face.

Hi Agrimorfee! I think there came a point when there was too much commercialism associated with any Andrew Lloyd Webber production. I think that is a bit of a shame really, because the music and lyrics of "Cats" has the magic to draw people of all ages together. "Harry Potter" does the same when it comes to reading books; children actually look forward, along with adults, for the very next book to come out. That is quite a remarkable thing. No, if you like one thing, then it is only natural to like the other.
