The Lyrics

Are you ready to drop the puck in the midwest? Alright hockey fans, here we go...
Well, lace up on your skates
and a uniform
Get yourself ready, now skate you go
Play hockey with the St. Louis Blues
You can beat the Red Wings if you're in the St. Louis Blues

Chris Pronger leads it off, charging the place
Goalie gets beat by Dallas Drake
The coach, Mike Kitchen tells 'em what to do
A red light...score by the St. Louis Blues
Play hockey with the St. Louis Blues
You can beat the Rangers if you're in the St. Louis Blues

Doug Weight will pass it down, to Keith Thachuk
Chris Osgood has gotta save the puck
Scott Mellanby just knows what to do
A red light...score by the St. Louis Blues
Play hockey with the St. Louis Blues
You can beat the Kings if you're in the St. Louis Blues

They got the hockey knowledge, they skate with the flow
But when the puck drops, it's go go go
Play hockey with the St. Louis Blues
Beat the Coyotes if you're in the St. Louis Blues

Well, St., St., St. Louis Blues
St., St., St. Louis Blues, uh-huh
St., St., St. Louis Blues, yeah
St., St., St. Louis Blues
The only team in MO, i know, is the St. Louis Blues

(sfx: hockey horn)

Do you know of the actual SONG called "St Louis Blues"? Written by W.C. Handy and Louis Armstrong, perhaps you can make a sequel to this parody with a parody of that tune. Here's the lyrics: http://www.bluesforpeace.com/lyrics/st-louis-blues.htm

Let's see... It's unlikely that the Blues would beat the Red Wings in the Playoffs. There's the little matter of not having had a reliable goalie since Mike Liut. Mike Kitchen? One of the players who got the early Devils called "a real Mickey Mouse outfit" by Number 99. But then, most of the really good coaches in sports were mediocre players, and most of the really good players make mediocre coaches. Sure, the Blues can beat the Rangers, but does that really deserve the full two points? Surely, there's a good song about the Blues. Possibly, "Well, you beat me in December but you won't in May!" to the tune of "Will you love me in December as you do in May."
