Parody Song Title:

"Sanitoned My Old Clothes"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

From a closet row,
Take my suits and ties
It's time for their Sanitone..
Down the street I go
To the dry clean guys,
Before the scent makes me gro-oan

On the avenue,
It's called The Alamo
Their price is fair,
And a swell job is shown
In a day or two,
Back down the street, I'll go
Pick up my clothes of Sanitone

Now, they're suits of spendor,
The ties are works of art
Bright, shine my clothes, clothes of Sanitone
If they need a mender,
Invisibly stitched, the part,
They're once again, suits I love, my own

Fresh as Spring, with a brand new look
And they make sure all moths have flown
Plastic wrapped and tagged, on a hanger hook
My clothes, my clothes of Sanitone

Fresh as Spring, with a brand new look
And they make sure all moths have flown
Plastic wrapped and tagged, on a hanger hook
My clothes, my clothes of Sanitone

My clothes, my clothes of Sanitone
My clothes, my clothes of Sanitone

Who can make even the most mundane of tasks into a funny perfectly-executed parody? There's only "won" I know! ;D

Echoing back your own comment at my House (so to speak), you, too, have a "dry, clean" sense of humor! (Neither of us is *always* "clean", though! ;--D)

Thanks, TJC..I thought it had good ring to it, when I snagged it from my subconscious....thanks, Fg....Bob Wills land..Is that Texas? and thanks, Tommy..true about the clean part...By the way, TT, are you in the US, or the UK?

Makes you feel like a new man with new clothes! Well executed parody! I echo all comments above! This is some good, clean fun! A 5 hour Martinizing (your laundry) for this one!

Live in the US, and have posted a number of parodies that gave enough hints as to where... Not sure why you'd think UK; TT always uses US spellings. If UK, would have said "... sense of HUMOUR", right? :-D

If it's a time-of-day issue, I usually can't take time during the day to visit this site, often work late, and so don't show up until late at night or even early in the morning. ... also why I'm not here every day, sometimes for days or weeks at a time. The economy is pretty bad... n/m, that topic's been covered this week! :)

Thanks, for the answer and info, TT...I thought you were US, but your web name has sort of an English ring to it...

Turtles, being poikilothermic, ("cold-blooded") prefer warmer waters, else their metabolism slows down too much. (Like it's not slow enough already! ;) They're not unheard of in the waters off the British Isles, but much less common, and far fewer species, than in more southerly waters and climes.

If you want the actual story behind the nick, you'll have to wade all the way through footnote [3] of a song you've already v/c'd:

No obligation, of course, but the story behind the name is there.
