Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

thanks for the parodies
the job you did was fine
often times sublime
you murdered all my favorite songs
i savored every line
how lovely they were

thanks for the parodies
i'd spend my afternoons
readin' goofy tunes
its quite a trip...to read your quips
you folks are really loons
how lovely you were

many's the time that they sizzled
and many's the time they disgusted
oh hell...they were swell...my gut busted
you're lots of fun...with lots of puns

so, thanks for the parodies
you made me laugh and roar
until my sides were sore
you're never formulaic
you've got tricks left by the score
so thank you so much

thanks for the parodies
your monumental verse
would sometimes meet a curse
i bristled when the one guy said
these couldn't be no worse
how ugly he was

thanks for the parodies
each morning i would race
right to my favorite place
and in i'd jump...they got me pumped
a smile would fill my face
how lovely they were

so, its goodbye to this year, y'all
i know you will come back to needle
you're all such insanely warped people
you're as mad as mutts...hooray...you're nuts

so, thanks for the parodies
a place to rendevouz
with lunatics like you
my neighbors hear my manic screams
and think i'm crazy too
awfully glad i met you
cheered me up when i was blue
so thank you so much

WOOOO! So so so great!!

As a side note, "Thanks For the Memories" is the very first song I ever saw parodied. When I was little, my mom parodied it for her mom on Mother's Day. I'd have her submit her version, but I don't want her to know I hang around such lunatics. ; ) Bravo again, Al. This is excellent.
