The Lyrics

Advice to anyone who wants to seriously research the 1951 “Beat the Clock” show featuring 300 Boy Scouts (or the show’s assistant, which I spent almost a combined year’s of time doing): don’t.
Got the pictures, got the pictures;
Got the pictures, got the pictures, got the pictures.
Like the clammer of a hammer
Is that “Beat the Clock” show’s clamor,
A nightmare extravaganza,
Got the pictures!

300 Scouts, 300 Scouts;
“Roxanne”, an elephant, and 300 young shouts,
Saw the blindfolds and the chatter,
And the gloves; it doesn’t matter,
These nightmares make one feel badder,
Got the pictures!

Read this show one afternoon,
Now each night I have to SEE the view!
Losing my mind, it’s attacked;
George, Germaine Briant & Ben Pollack!

Got the pictures, got the pictures;
Got the jitters, want a quitter, got the pictures.
From the moment that I get up,
I must scream to have a let up,
Way to bring another set up,
GOT THE PICTURES!!!

Like a million city critters,
Who are not exactly quitters,
And can sleep a whole night through,
That’s got the pictures!!
Fun fact: I was dreaming of the 1951 “Beat the Clock” show featuring 300 Boy Scouts DURING the events of January 6, 2021. Click here for the internet’s first-ever page dedicated entirely to this show, at the Internet Archive.

Not this again. - September 03, 2022 - Report this comment
Another parody about the so-called “greatest moment in television history” — isn’t this about the 50th one? Same show, same topic, same vintage artists — everyone knows about it by now. You might want to relax a bit with these — just some advice.

It’s about the greatest moment in human history, it’s impossible to get tired of it. He can make 300 more parodies about this broadcast if necessary.
