The Lyrics

Earlier this week, TMZ asked “What happened to Richard Simmons?” with a prime time special on FOX. He has not appeared in public since 2014. He’s still alive, but he chooses to stay inside his home. Richard Simmons is known for many things, but one thing he is not well known for is a show he hosted in 1999 called “Richard Simmons’ DreamMaker”. He opened each show by walking out in front of a studio audience and saying “HELLO, DREAMERS!!!”. Then he would grant wishes to people in the audience. And it only lasted one season. The show aired on BUZZR briefly in late 2017, and that is how I learned about this show. For a brief change, let’s hear about Richard Simmons’ DreamMaker instead of the 1951 “Beat the Clock” show that I really need to tell you??
Got the dreamers, got the dreamers,
A forgotten show, Richard Simmons’ DreamMaker.
It aired in 1999,
After ONE season, the show died!
Now this rare show’s host wants to hide,
That’s DreamMaker!

Richard Simmons, Richard Simmons,
Went into hiding; the public, he won’t face it.
Does he remember DreamMaker?
Does he think it was a failure?
We want answers to these questions,
Richard Simmons!

When 2014 was new,
Simmons disappeared from public view!
This caused a “Missing” podcast,
But he’s lived longer than Ben Pollack!

Back to dreamers, back to dreamers,
Wasn’t bakers, wasn’t fakers, was DreamMaker.
Grand production, a large set up,
A forgotten TV let up,
On it’s host, now there’s a checkup,

Like a million city dreamers,
Who are not exactly streamers,
And want to watch this rare show,
That’s called DreamMaker!
“Hello, dreamers!!!” ~ Richard Simmons, 1999
