The Lyrics

July 30th marks a special day on the calendar, National Cheesecake Day. For the most part, this day is all about the dessert, but here I will be focusing on its “alternate” term. Most people are not aware that the term “cheesecake” also refers to photos of scantily clad women, which was mostly used during the 1940s & 1950s. And if you are at all familiar with my parodies by now, you’ll correctly assume that it’s time to invoke the greatest moment in television history. Yes, I’m talking about that 1951 “Beat the Clock” show featuring 300 Boy Scouts. And as you all know by now, one 11 year old told “Roxanne”, the show’s assistant, “Boy, you’re terrific cheesecake!” And so let’s focus on that line, and this “alternate” term, in a parody of Ben Pollack’s greatest song.
National Cheesecake Day,
July 30th,
This year it will fall on,
A Saturday,

You think of the dessert,
But then, you’re not wise,
Here’s the “alternate” meaning,
Just open up your eyes!

There’s that “Beat the Clock” show,
300 Boy Scouts,
Don’t forget what was said,
This Saturday,

One gave a girl his take,
It didn’t last long,
Said, “Boy, you’re terrific cheesecake!”
That’s the song!
After that show, the 11 year old had his mouth washed out with soap, in spite of having contributed to the greatest moment in television history. And now you can celebrate National Cheesecake Day knowing that you are also commemorating the greatest moment in television history. Commemorate it that way.

Happy belated George & Germaine Briant Day (July 20th), happy belated National Cheesecake Day (July 30th), and happy new month to all users of this site. I see that virtually nobody else has attempted to write a parody of a Ben Pollack/Irving Aaronson song or a parody about this topic. I want more people to write parodies about this broadcast, not just me. As of now, this parody has 75 views. For reference, that’s only a QUARTER of the amount of all 300 Boy Scouts that appeared on the 1951 “Beat the Clock” show mentioned here. That just shows you how big of a number 300 is. If this ends up being my last parody on this site let it be known that it referenced the greatest moment in television history, as did most of my parodies, and that said parodies helped bring attention to not only the greatest moment in television history, but also the greatest people in human history, George & Germaine Briant. Likely I have been more successful with the former. Thank you to everyone who has looked into this broadcast and learned about it. Always keep looking into this broadcast, always keep looking for a kinescope of this broadcast, and if you do find a kinescope of this broadcast and watch it, to paraphrase the drummer Ben Pollack, “May it please you.”
