Song Parodies -> "Pennsylvania In The Voting"

Original Song Title:

"Carolina In The Morning"

Original Performer:

Al Jolson

Parody Song Title:

"Pennsylvania In The Voting"

Parody Written by:

Old Man Ribber

The Lyrics

When Senator Arlen Specter (D-Pa) switched parties, he made no bones about his motivation...he knew he had no chance of getting the Republican nomination for a sixth term. The Obama administration tried to get his opponent Rep. Joe Sestak to drop out of the race with (unofficial, therefore technically legal) promises of a job. The President promised to campaign for Specter, stating "I love Arlen Specter". Convienently, Obama could not come to Pennsylvania to campaign for Specter and Sestak won the primary. Clever politics for the administration, career-ending betrayal for Specter, and the latest White House broken promise for Old Man Ribber's parody machine! ;D

While the pundits chatter, please tell me what is the matter
In the voting?
G.O.P. defector the incumbent Arlen Specter
Lost the voting!
President Obama - gave the man a hug,
Said "I love Arlen Specter", then he pulled out the rug!

If O. came to Philly then it would have been a dilly
In the voting.
Could have turned it a-round but instead he flew to Youngstown
For the voting.
Spec was backed by almost every liberal PAC,
But without O. he lost to Sestak.
Now D.C. is stressing and there's lots of second guessing
'Bout the voting.

(Instrumental interlude for first half)

They hoped they'd get lucky - Pennsylvania's not Kentucky -
In the voting.
Sestak's now the top gun - O.'s supported him "since Day One"
In the voting
O. won't fear the voters, his great magic is fine.
(Not good for Specter, Coakley, Corzine)
Even Sestak's gloomy - in November he'll face Toomey
In the voting!

Now that I'm back, the one bomber can get off everybody else's case. ;D

Arlen wasn't snarlin' during his concession speech. "Crying," I think, is the term. Toomey or not Toomey, there'll be the question. What will the voters have in mind as they suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous ad claims. . . .
