I'm trying thinking of things new and old
Need an idee for this parody
Inspiration has left me cold
I went out walking as I kept on asking why
Did the rum I drank make my mind go blank?
Did the beers send my thoughts goodbye?

Yeah, I thought of nothing
Nothing that I thought would do
I kept pondering

I can't even think of where I should begin
I need to knock this mental block
So that's why I downed that gin
I went through all my files
Saw the parodies that I'd writ
I found no inspiration
So I think my brain has quit

I guess my neurons found a brain stem drain
And it's so hard to think, can't recall my own name
And it's the whisky and the ale and vodka too
Making me spew

I'm trying to make use of experience
To write and to write and to write as much
As I need to for due diligence

I keep on thinking, looking for one good line
A phrasing that will not sound too fake
That will let me get back to my wine
I keep on searching for an insight or a pun
Some words from God to give this song a start
But I'm coming up with none

I'm guessing I'll just stay up, hoping I'll be done soon
Yeah, I got no inspiration, maybe I'll watch a cartoon
And I'll drink tequila and some southern comfort too
Until it's due
