It was a really cool day, and the sun was out,
I put my golf gloves on, and grabbed my driver.
Moved over to the tee, I positioned myself,
Did a practice swing, and it looked fine.

Putting on the green, that's where I wanna be,
But I'm still at the tee, as you can plainly see,
Putting on the green.

Now the first 3 balls, went into the water,
And a big sand trap, I was mad.
Then it was my fifth shot, that made it to the fairway,
It slipped out of my hands, my nine iron.

Putting on the green, looks far away to me,
Barely made it off the tee, God help me make it please,
Putting on the green.

On my 10th shot, it rolled right by the hole,
It rolled so close, I just moaned,
Then it started to rain, and the sun went in,
I was getting wet, I went home.

Putting on the green, not as fun as it seems,
Par was the hole by 3, but that didn't happen for me,
