Jimmy Carter was better than every President who's followed him except Bill Clinton. And when the jobs come back, Obama will surpass him as well. But the Republicans since have all damaged this country far more than they could ever imagine a Democratic President doing so.

You've got to commend the man for his involvement with Habitat for Humanity; but, yes, his major accomplishment as president was to make others look good by comparison. Well done, IL.

Let's not be so fickle, OK? Here are the basic facts. Jimmy Carter served in the Navy as a reactor plant officer on a nuclear submarine. I've been in that program as well and it's not for the dumbbutts. You have to have smarts and intelligence, it ain't no picnic. Later on he became governor of Georgia. I don't know about his record there. When he was President he inherited a very long post-Vietnam War recession (kind of like we're in now) and even though he did launch a rescue mission to get the 52 hostages in Iran the operation was a total f**kup and I remember him on TV saying that as Commander-In-Chief the blame for the mission's failure would rest with his Administration. Those 2 factors deep-sixed his reelection bid. He ain't stupid but he acted naively and he was a weak president. U.S. Grant was an inept prez too but everyone knows about his stellar Army career. Anyway, Jimmy is far from the worst. B.J. Clinton is a smooth operator. He didn't get the nickname "Slick" for nothing. The one that came after didn't get elected but selected, he brought this country to the pitiful mess it's in today, he wasted, destroyed, ignored lives, money and freedoms. Jimmy Carter was a stumblebum president but he's no egotistical moronic a**hole. Obama is trying to pick up the pieces but there's a lot of crap that fell on his lap and he's no god. If Jimmy (or Reagan or Bush Sr.) was in the White House during the last decade things would be better now.

George W. Bush WAS elected and not "selected" and was far superior in every way to the foreign fraud currently illegally occupying the White House, who very much IS an "egotistical moronic a**hole" whose reckless spending and evil social programs are wrecking the country. If you can't see how this commie usurper of yours is wasting, destroying, and ignoring the lives, money, and liberties of our people, you must be utterly blind (which is to say, you must be a lamestream media lapdog). the rest of the country already acknowledges by growing margins in poll after poll that Bush was a vastly superior President in all ways. Of course, total hypocrites that you shrinking remnant of this usurper's supporters are, I notice none of you are complaining about your incompetent occupant's meddling in the political affairs of Honduras, his targeted killing of an American citizen, his purely politically motivated firing of an Inspector General, his blatant lies about nationalizing our health care system, his utter failure to do anything useful to contain the oil spill, his obstruction of everyone who DID try to do anything useful to contain it, and his constant meddling in the economy which has kept it from recovering. Yes, even Jimmy Carter the Jew-hating screw-up is starting to look superior to this idiot. Things WERE better with George W. Bush in the White House, and the way things are going now, the state of the economy during Jimmy Carter's portion of the 1970s is starting to look like the best possible result for all the damage this undocumented worker of yours has done, is doing, and is about to do to us.
