The Lyrics

The OS is originally about fruit salad. But this parody is about congee and how to make it. It's basically very watery rice, made into a porridge with ginger, chicken, scallions, duck eggs and other things. Very delicious. Usually served during dim sum and during other meals. Here's the recipe if you're interested in trying to make it yourself: http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/chinese-chicken-and-rice-porridge-congee-103051
Rice congee, runny runny
Rice congee, runny runny
Rice congee, runny runny
Runny, runny
Yummy, yummy
Rice congee!

Let's make some rice congee today (Om nom nom)
It's fun to cook it the healthy way (Om nom nom)
Take all the food that you want to eat
It's gonna be a great congee feast!

The first step
Put in your scallions
The second step
Toss in some rice
The third step
Chop up some ginger
Boil all your water
And put them in your bowl

Now we've made it, it's time to eat it (Om nom nom)
It tastes so good that you just can't beat it (Om nom nom)
Give everyone a bowl and a spoon
We'll all be eating it very soon!

The first step
Eat up the rice soup
The second step
Eat up some eggs
The third step
Eat up some ginger
Eat the scallions
Now there's nothing in your bowl

Now we've had our rice congee today (Uh huh huh)
It's time to put the food away (Uh huh huh)
Wash the bowls and wash the spoons
Let's make it all again real soon!

Rice congee, runny runny
Rice congee, runny runny
Rice congee, runny runny
Yummy, yummy, runny, runny
Rice congee!

Rice congee, runny runny
(x8)
Hope you enjoyed! Here is the OS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gB4MNu6W9sg Keep in mind I love congee and other Asian dishes, so I'm not bashing or making fun of the dish :)

Reminds me a lot of growing up next to a Korean family. Lots of exotic smells from the kitchen window. 555!

Thank you! :) My husband is Taiwanese so I am used to eating a lot of Asian meals and trying new things. So yummy!

I love Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese... but with sushi by the 8th wasabi drenched piece washed down with sake, I'm done! Hey! Where's Jon at? He usually comments on food!

Annie, I live in California, so Asian food is everywhere. But it seems like every new place opening is Thai food! Do you like Thai?

I hear you :) I do like Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese, Taiwanese. You name it. I'm in Toronto Canada. Asian food is amazing. I'd prefer that any day over fast food. What about you?

I'm pretty open to anything. Asian, Mexican, Italian, steak houses, fast food. But at home I love to make lemon pepper catfish! Could eat fish everyday, but too expensive for Icelandic Cod, Maine Lobster, Alaskan snow crab, etc...

I agree :) I like most of that stuff too. Seafood can be expensive, depending on what you buy. And it's a pain to prepare, but the end results are worth it. I'm not typically a picky eater. I don't like things like curry or Natto (fermented soy beans mixed with soya sauce and mustard). I don't like things like that that have an overpowering smell and taste. Other than that, I'm open to just about any food.
