The, the U-2
O' how high it flew
Proved what we knew
Red plans, high scan zoom
Proved, what was true

The, the U-2
O' how high it flew
Proved what we knew
Red plans, high scan zoom
Proved, what was true

Idea was old
DFS* proved
US was sold
Lockheed made new

The, the U-2
O' how high it flew
Proved what we knew
Red plans, high scan zoom
Proved, what was true

The, the U-2
O' how high it flew
Proved what we knew
Red plans, high scan zoom
Proved, what was true

"Dragon Lady" still used...**
* in 1945 the US captured the German DFS-228 high altitude recon sailplane mostly completed, but without the rocket engine installed. It had flown gliding tests at over 500 mph launched by a Do-217. Lockheed later used it as the concept for the U-2. The DFS-228 was designed to reach 82,000 ft in WW2!!!
** Dragon Lady is an unofficial nickname as are Gray Ghost and Shady Lady. Lockheed name was angel followed by the A-11 which was Archangel.
