The Lyrics

Hi-ho, D here, giving you another parody about Bert's life. Ever wonder what his life used to be like? Bert will live to tell it all.
The original song is owned by Steve Harwell and his band (and it become a popular internet meme)
[Verse 1: Bert]
Some froggy once told me the cookies gonna eat me.
I wouldn't get stuck into this nest.
He was feeling kinda down until Ernie came around,
with a squeaky rubber duck on the footrest.
Well, he said, "Hey, Bert, would you look at my shirt?
The monster eats his cookies, while stomping on the dirt.
I know you've been living in the cage.
Just eat some oatmeal and get on stage.
Feed the bird that's up on a tree,
Don't forget to bring me your duckie!
We'll be living on the streets dancing,
so you can learn to do the pigeon!"

[Chorus: Bert]
Hey, now, you're a pigeon, start the dancing, go dance
Hey, now, you're a rockin', get your rock on, take a chance.
The monster's furry and cold,
Only Super Grover gets the gold.

[Verse 2: Bert]
He was flying 'round, it was indeed Grover,
He's fuzzy and blue, his only superpower,
Is that the citizens he needs to be a saving.
More than the help that should be a given.
The thing I do, is look at paperclips,
The band is still marching, on our favorite trip.
Our street would be cooler, how about yours?
We would want to tell you how to get to Hooper's Store.

[Chorus: Bert]
Hey, now, you're a pigeon, start the dancing, go dance
Hey, now, you're a rockin', get your rock on, take a chance.
The monster's furry and cold,
Only Super Grover gets the gold.

[Chorus: Bert]
Hey, now, you're a pigeon, start the dancing, go dance
Hey, now, you're a rockin', get your rock on, take a chance.
The monster's furry and cold,
Only Super Grover...

[Verse 3: Bert]
Then Elmo once asked me, "Could you help a little monster out, please?
He needs to remember what the alphabet goes."
I said, "Fine. We'll have a good time.
I'll teach you letters and it'll cost you a dime,
and you'll be getting it to your toes."
But then, Ernie told me, "Bert, would you look at my shirt?
I told the monster to eat cookies and never step on that dirt.
You're living the good life out of that cage,
But the street has gone into a total rage.
Too many birds up on a tree,
They just stole my squeaky rubber duckie!"
The street is still going, my friend.
And I guess that's how I live my life then.

[Chorus: Bert]
Hey, now, you're a pigeon, start the dancing, go dance
Hey, now, you're a rockin', get your rock on, take a chance.
The monster's furry and cold,
Only Super Grover gets the gold.
I'm Darius and we'll live our life in the city, and so will Bert.
