The Lyrics

For idle OS.
In comes a troubadour
Sends feelings through words cheesy
I'm now ignored take sass
And now stuck here feeling queasy

I don’t have Pepbismol
I can’t have diddly shot
I'm not getting what I want
I'm getting what not rot

I'm gonna groak in the sun
Gonna leave everyone
Queen listen up
I'm gonna ask her this
Can he heal you the same
The very time you feel pain?
I'm looking up

I'm gonna groak in the sun
I'm gonna croak in the sun

I've lost my crazy job
Hope I raise dough enough
To buy the dough that’s baked
To put some thing in my tum

Every time I get putdown
I'm moving on done feeling down
Queenie something’s hooked in you
That makes you love the act you do

I'm gonna groak in the sun
Gonna leave everyone
Queen listen up
I'm gonna ask her this
Can he heal you the same
The very time you feel pain?
I'm looking up I¹m gonna soak up the sun

I'm gonna joke and have fun
To laugh is free
I'm gonna joke make a pun
Before wit grows dim in me

Don't need the jester suite
I'm still in reign of me
You have your cheesy guide but queenie
I'm the one with laughs for thee

Every time I get putdown
I'm moving on done feeling down
Queenie something’s hooked in you
That makes you love the act you do
Queenie I am leaving you

I'm gonna groak in the sun
Gonna leave everyone
Queen listen up
I'm gonna ask her this
Can he heal you the same
The very time you feel pain?
I'm looking up

I'm gonna groak in the sun
Gonna leave everyone
Queen listen up
I'm gonna ask her this
Can he heal you the same
The very time you feel pain?
I'm looking up

I'm gonna poke up some fun
Got to contrive on
So I can laugh on

(Amiright Idol) This is pure Anne Hammond, stream of consciousness with fun wordplay. As I groak this, there is a quite a bit of OS words still hanging around here.

Not varied as well as it could be. I'm just glad I got something in.

(AmIRight Idol) The good news is that this one has a backing track if it to win, so good song choice. The idea was fun and original, unfortunately Ann if I recorded say ten of your songs, this one would probably not be among the upper end of them because many would hear it as a misheard lyrics parody. What I mean by that, is when the OS hangs around, to the ear it sounds similar. But knowing your personal situation Ann, I applaud you for completing a relatively difficult song and pacing it as well as you did, not to mention the idea really is good.

Thanks B.A.D. Yes this is a fun write, but to record it for people it probably wouldn't get the same reaction as something like my Bathroom parody ( which is written like a story).

I'm not sure what to make of this one... technically, it's a good parody with solid pacing and rhyming and would be easily recordable. Lyrically, it's similar to the original in, like Aggy wrote, a stream of consciousness way. "Groak" wasn't in my vocabulary until I read this parody, and I'm not sure how its single definition really fits, but I can let that fly. The "Queen(-ie)" references completely went by me though: is that a person's (or pet's) name, a drag queen, Queen of England, etc? I did like the "I'm getting what not rot" line quite a bit, and you did meet the goal of making a recordable parody, with, as Dave wrote, a tough OS.

Ann I like this a lot! Favorite line: "Don't need the jester suite" . . . . but for me personally, I'd prefer the Cowboy suite! Great write.

Thanks Red Ant Queenie is just something I added. Groak wasn't in my vocabulary eaither until I used Rhymezone. I Might want to be careful not to use words people may not know. Thanks CupCakes
