The Lyrics

I have recently joined two boycotts. One is of the Capital Grille chain, because it's trying to attract customers by bragging about how often Mitt Romney goes there. I am a Democrat and I am opposed to Romney's plans. He couldn't even run my home state. Another is of American Apparel, because of its extremely sexist advertising. I don't care if their clothes are sweatshop-free and made in the US. There is no excuse to degrade women. And yes, I am fully aware that I am using a cheery-sounding Roxette song to discuss political matters. And it's a good way to do it. I'm not causing bodily injury or property damage. I'm just refusing to give these corporations money.
(Come on, join the boycotts, everybody! Don't take your cash there! Spend it elsewhere!)

Hello, you guys, don't buy it!
Come on, join the boycotts

I've just decided I won't go
To the Capital Grille
Because they brag about Mitt Romney
Whose plans give me chills
He can't run a state, what makes him
Think he can run a whole country?
And some idiot suggested
That I just burn the place down
I said, "No, nothing illegal,
That won't get our message around!"
But they might raise their prices
So only Romney can afford their food
Now I'll take my money elsewhere
Until this is no longer there

I say hello, you guys, don't buy it!
Come on, join the boycotts, join the boycotts

And American Apparel
Makes its clothes in the US
That's no excuse to show women
In various states of undress
I saw one that was posing
Like she's in the midst of a threesome, whoa, no
So I'll take all my money elsewhere, yeah
Till it's no longer there

I say hello, you guys, don't buy it!
Come on, join the boycotts, join the boycotts
I say hello, you guys, don't buy it!
Come on, join the boycotts, be a boycotter

(Guitar solo- if you can call it a guitar solo)

Ain't this what MLK did
With segregated buses?
It's fine to break your silence
Just don't do it with violence!

I say hello, you guys, don't buy it!
Come on, join the boycotts, join the boycotts
Hello, you guys, don't buy it!
Come on, join the boycotts, join the boycotts
Hello, hello, you guys, don't buy it!
Come on, come on, join the boycotts, be a boycotter
