The Lyrics

my first Covid 19 parody, hope y'all like it
In 2019, The coronavirus seemed like just another pandemic but it wasn't
It was different in many ways, similar to SARS and MERS and the common flu virus
In SARS CoV-2 the average incubation rate is 7-28 days

It’s known as Covid 19
It-it-it’s known as Covid 19

The surge of infection of the virus continues today
It started in a market in Wuhan
They really weren't sure what was going on

Ni-ni-ni 19, 19, ni-19 19
19, 19, 19, 19

During the pandemic essential workers typically worked
well beyond their typical duties
And was exposed to the virus almost everyday

Ni-ni-ni 19, Ni-ni-ni 19

Millions of nurses and essential workers saw heavy workloads
many small businesses shut down since discharge
Men’s infection rate is almost twice that of women of the same age
There are no accurate figures of how many people
Have been infected

The Center for Disease control and Prevention
Concludes that the more people
who wear masks could more likely protect the people around you
but not protect yourself

This is one legacy of the coronavirus

All those who have treated the sick
They won't forget what they've seen
Infection of people both young and old
and it’s called Covid 19

Masks, masks
In-In-Infection, ma, ma, masks, ma, masks, masks
Masks, masks

During the pandemic people stayed home together on zoom chats
But essential workers couldn’t stay home, working their 40 hours like nothing happened
Perhaps the most dramatic difference between
nurses and other essential workers who can’t stay home
None of them received admiration or gratitude

None of them received admiration or gratitude, none of them, none of them
Ne-ne-ne, ne-ne-ne, none of them, none of them, none of them
None of them received admiration or gratitude
None of them received admiration or gratitude

According to the Center for Disease control and Prevention
maintain 6 feet distance and frequently wash your hands; what
most people usually call

Many people complain of termination, wage loss and bills
Some succumb to foreclosure and bankrupcy
Eight to ten weeks after staying home
at least eight hundred thousand people are expected to die of the coronavirus

Ni-ni-ni 19, 19, ni19 19
19, 19, 19, 19
Ni-ni-ni 19, 19, ni-19 19
19, 19, 19, 19

When it started everything became different, everybody wants to know
"How'd it happened to those guys over there?
There's gotta be a vaccine somewhere
We did what we had to do
There's gotta be some vaccine somewhere

People wanted us to be ashamed of the people in Wuhan
They had no idea what we have to fight and what it is now

All we want to do is leave home
All we want to do is leave home
What are we blaming for?
All we want to do is leave home
Who started it?
supposedly more Americans have died of Covid 19 than Americans in the Vietnam War, which inspired me to write this song
