Song Parodies -> "Puke Up {Bulimia's Song}"

Original Song Title:

"Dukes Up {Get Your Dukes Up Now}"

 (MP3)
Original Performer:

Modest Mouse

Parody Song Title:

"Puke Up {Bulimia's Song}"

Parody Written by:

SI-MAE

The Lyrics

"Eating Disorders are bad. This song is about bulimia {I think that's how it's spelled, I think I have all the facts right}, the eating disorder where one binges and vomits all the food out. This is the tale of a girl who is driven to this ugly condition by the unforgiving conformist hierarchy. I hate people who create stories like this, the 'better people' who drive people to such conditions"- Apricot, SI-MAE
So you ate it all up now
Chuck it up, Throw it up
Get your puke up now

Got that fat, you'll lose it now,
Hack it up, In a cup,
Get that puke up now

Such a pretty crowd,
Button up, suck it up
Gettin' so scared now,

They hate you, They always do,
Upchuck, Throw it up,
Get your puke up now!
"Believe it or not, the actual song is that short! It's also that repetitive. If you don't believe me, look up the lyrics. I stay true to the scheme: If a line is the same as another in the Modest Mouse version, I keep it here. I use the same rhymes as the real song in almost every line {I think I break from that in 1} By the way, I did this song alone"- Apricot, SI-MAE

Nice job, but it wasn't really funny. I don't think it was meant to be, though. I still gave you a four, because I don't wanna lower your overall totals too much. 5-4-4.

I was pulled from my 3rd year of college because of a severe eating disorder. For someone to joke around about "getting your puke on" is absolutely disgusting and hurtful. Some of us are trying to just stay alive at this point and to see this ... just makes me want to cry ...

Aside from that fact that the lyrics are extremely mediocre and, dare I say it, pathetic, but the topic is insensitive and cruel. There is enough pro ana-mia stuff floating around the internet as it is...You may find this "funny," but a young girl who looks up mia online (as so many are these days) will probably be swayed by your "lyrics." Next time you attempt to be funny, try and find a topic that doesn't kill thousands of woman (and men) every year. Thanks. Hope you amused yourself. (And all those amused by this should be equally disgusted with themselves).

Somewhere in the world, maybe there is a funny song parody about bulimia...but I doubt it. It certainly wasn't this.

I don't think it was supposed to be funny. did you read the comment before the thing that the author wrote? It seems anti bulimia. It's suppose to be from the person's viewpoint it's not mocking them. I gave it 5 for pacing and 4 overall. It wasn't suppose to be funny, but I gave it a 3 for that just to not skew the rating too much.

Bulimia isn't all about puking after binging. It's a recurrent inappropriate compensatory behavior in order to prevent weight gain. It's a serious disorder. NOTHING to joke about. I have bulimia, and I know it's a bad thing, but I can't control it. I lose control and I eat. I lose control and I purge. I hide and steal food, just to fill me up to the top. Afterwards, I can't believe what I've done, but I do it again. 10 times a day. And some days, I just starve. Like today. Don't kid about these things.
