The Lyrics

When, what to my wondering eyes should appear, but a Robert Lund recording. Download it here.
Our special for today...is Reindeer Number Nine

1 2 slash 2 5
Squeeze your butt into the sleigh; shift it into drive
All the kids out here are losing patience
We need our HDTVs and Sony PlayStations
Every dang year I'm completely good
But I'm the one who gets stiffed in my neighborhood
So hit the Wilsons, the Millers, the Fletchers, the Stevens
While they're snug in bed, I'll be outside freezin'
Up on the roof in my red and green camo
With a big gift box loaded up with ammo
I'll give your reindeer a hunting season's greeting
And soon I'll be eating

A little bit of Dasher - T-bone steak
A little bit of Dancer - shake and bake
A little bit of Prancer - crispy fried
A little bit of Vixen - on the side
A little bit of Comet - medium rare
A little bit of Cupid - ribs to spare
A little bit of Donner - on my grill
A little bit of Blitzen - Happy Meal

Reindeer Number Nine!

So drive those deer from Kearns to Kashmir
Use your bells when you fly; use your reins in the sky
Use magic dust for turbo thrust
Use defrost if you can; use de whip if you must
You may use your reindeer to get the job done
But when I have reindeer, I use some A-1

A little bit of Dasher - steak and eggs
A little bit of Dancer - awesome legs
A little bit of Comet - watch him go
A little bit of Cupid - shot by bow
A little bit of Blitzen - with strong wine
A little bit of Donner - party time
A little bit of Vixen - ho ho ho
A little bit of Rudolph - makes me glow

Reindeer Number Nine!

This entire thing (as all of your others) was pure gold!!! It was better than gold (better than frankensense, and muir for that matter) it was Spaff!!!!!!! I loved how you summed all the reindeer up at the end, Donner Party, Dancer's Legs, Blitzen with wine.... Pure brilliance!

Frankensense and Muir, Matthias? That was almost as funny as this parody. Wonderful work as usual, Spaff. 555

More than a dash of wit.

I'm with Matthias and Alvin on this.... tooooo good! For whatever reason, "A little bit of Donner--party time!" was the primo giggle for me among too many other marvelously "meaty" lines to mention! Also the picture of the strung up deer on your site was similarly Spaff-a-larious!

Great and mighty Spaff!! This was toooo goood , but I'm really glad for your talent...then we get to hear them too. : ) And was that a lascivious "A little bit of Vixen - ho ho ho "?

Oh, man! What better way to spend the first Saturday of my school holidays (not including the one straight after the last day) than to read an absolutely perfect Spaff parody - and it's to a song I know! As soon as my bandwith's back to normal, I am SO downloading this.

This is definitely another of those "wtf didn't I think of that" ideas... simple concept, beautifully executed. Have picked up the mp3, will listen as soon as I get it onto a PC with speakers.

"Doctor, I'm not sure what the problem is. I ate flying reindeer meat, and I just can't seem to keep it down." This is ESP (Excellent Spaff Parody).

A great lesson in how to groan and laugh at the same time! :-D

to quote the boss Mexican outlaw in Three Amigos: "You guys are funny guys!" - that is hilarious, and if that recording doesn't infiltrate the mainstream American email attachment circuit by Xmas, then Virginia, there is no parody God - 555 (I'll try to ipod it in time for our scorching Aussie Xmas party)
