Out in the woods near Jasper, Arkansaw,
Two boys, four girls, all cousins, they say.
To see the mosquitoes and learn about chiggers,
The ticks that live there, the snakes and the bears.
A couple are teachers, the rest just beginners.
Wanting to know about relative ways.
All together they’re telling a story of family
That they should have listened to their parents tell.
Now, life in the woods is a family affair,
Too many cousins, first, second, and third.
The time is upon them to begin inbreeding.
And tomorrow will be just one more wet dream.

Hot nights in Arkansaw, lightning bugs shine.
The boys and the girls, cousins again.
Clear waters flowing of the Buffalo River.
The Ozarks alive with the family fever.
