The Lyrics

This is a song about how my idol, "Weird Al" Yankovic, inspired me, which is the reason why I've been writing parodies. I never met him but in this song, I'm going to pretend I did. Even though, I hope to meet him someday.
I see his face on VH1
I even see him on MTV
His name is "Weird Al" Yankovic
He's a great king of parody

I went to his live concert
He gave me his autograph
I think his songs are really cool
Sometimes they make me laugh

You know that he's my idol
He wrote hits like "My Bologna"
Along with "Amish Paradise"
And "Smells Like Nirvana"

Weird Al he knows me
And he knows me all right
I've been a fan of Weird Al all my life
Oh yes he knows me and he knows I'm his fan
You know I'm gonna be like him every day and night

Girls like me when I'm just like him
They always get attracted to me
And they don't know about my girlfriend
Or my worst-of-all parody

I danced to many of Weird Al's songs
That include "Eat It" and "Fat"
I could dance to more of his songs
From his new album, "Poodle Hat"

I recommend more of his hits
Like "It's All About The Pentiums"
You Weird Al fans never have to feel
Like a bunch of bums

Weird Al he knows me
And he knows me all right
I've been a fan of Weird Al all my life
Oh yes he knows me and he knows I'm his fan
You know I'm gonna be like him every day and night

I sent my parodies to Dr. Domento
He was very impressed about all of those songs
I really feel lucky all because of that
My mind of parodies get really strong
Weird Al will inspire you
If you wanna be his fan, just do as I do

I've been writin' parodies
I hope to be like Weird Al someday
Then I'll probably get richer
Day by day

You can try to send e-mails
Just to be close friends with him
And I hope that one day
You'll get in contact with him

I'll never forget about Weird Al
His career is really cool
I'll never forget about the fact
That he really rules

Weird Al he knows me
And he knows me all right
I've been a fan of Weird Al all my life
Oh yes he knows me and he knows I'm his fan
You know I'm gonna be like him every day and night

If you want to meet Al, just go to one of his concerts, then wait for him backstage afterwards. He's one of the only artists that takes the time to actually say hello and sign things after every concert. I guess it's because he's not drinking or "feelin' groupies" after a show like most rock stars. And his bandmates are glad to chat also, they've been with him from the beginning. How many bands can say that. If he is truely "weird", the world needs more of it.
