Parody Song Title:

"Friends in Cold Vases"

Parody Written by:

Royce Miller

The Lyrics

Blame it all on his will
There lies my friend, Bill
I'd say that he's well-done, not rare
We all have to die
There's no need to lie
Now my friend Bill doesn't have any cares

And it was no surprise
I saw peace in his eyes
When he said "they're cremating me"
And I said to him
Well, Bill, that is not grim
And you get a much better fee

Chorus:
Now I've got friends in cold vases
They are high on shelves and mantle-places
And they're okay...
They've gone away
I'm not big on resting places
In the sky they say there's an oasis
Now, I've got friends in cold vases

Well I've seen fancy graves
And some folks are slaves
To keep them all pretty and clean
I've seen monuments
To lives that are spent
And cemeteries all green
Hey, I'm with you, Bill
It's here in my will
It just takes a short time and then
I'll be as compact as this little shack
That I'm livin' in

Chorus:
Don't keep me in cold vases
Throw me out to sea
Where waves will chase all my dust away
I'll be okay
I'm not big on grave-site spaces
In the sky I've heard there's an oasis
So don't keep me
In cold vases

Kind of a Nep-tune, or a nec-tune.

I totally agree, Royce. The thought of being buried scares the bejeebees out of me. And is it bad that I laughed at this a couple of times?

Ash--I don't think it's bad at all that you laughed at it; it wasn't my funniest attempt, you know, it's just something I wanted to say. And it's something I saw alot of when I lived in Florida--people having their ashes scattered at sea. It appeals to me because to me it's a symbol of freeing the spirit.
