Original Song Title:

"She Drives Me Crazy"

Original Performer:

Essentially Yours

Parody Song Title:

"My Blue Jean Baby"

Parody Written by:

Robert D. Arndt Jr.

The Lyrics

My Blue Jean Baby
In her mid-rise jeans
Leggy, curve-lovin’
Beauty supreme

VS Siren, VS Boyfriend
VS Flare, Denim- cotton
- spandex,
How I love them!

Add vintage Tee
And point-toe pumps
She looks like a model
My floor becomes a catwalk

My Blue Jean Baby
In her mid-rise jeans
Leggy, curve-lovin’
Beauty supreme

VS Siren, VS Boyfriend
VS Flare, Denim- cotton
- spandex,
How I love them!

Outdoors we walk for all to see
The guys they drop their jaws
She’s sexy and flirty
So I have to swipe away their paws

Then finally back at home
Her jeans fall to the floor
She runs into the bathroom
Victoria’s Secret offers more!

Much more!!!

My Blue Jean Baby
In her mid-rise jeans
Leggy, curve-lovin’
Beauty supreme

VS Siren, VS Boyfriend
VS Flare, Denim- cotton
- spandex,
How I love them!

When she wears them… or tears them off!!!

This is not the same song as the one by Fine Young Canibals, is it? This doesn't even look like it could be a parody of *that* song. Because I have never heard of a band called 'Essentially Yours.' In fact, I just tried googling it and all the results that came up were from Amiright. Makes me wonder...

@AP (why don't you just use your own name over a simple Q?)... back in the 1980s-90s I worked for a company that did promotions for Sacramento, Ca. We worked with the radio stations from KSFM 102.5 down the FM dial to KWOD 106 and often set up various forms of entertainment with sponsorship like the "Girls of the 20 Minute Work-Out" performing live on the K St. Mall along with other local talent which included bands, models, and free agent talent. Essentially Yours was a local club band that provided music for the Macy's seasonal fashion shows at the K St. Mall store. "She Drives Me Crazy" is nothing like FYC's OS at all as it was used to promote lingerie!!! I have boxes full of materials for those promotions which include these local bands and singers: RFS, Indy-Jonz, Cruel Affliction, G'rilla, Tethered Hearts, Jill Mason, and a long list of others. And I still have all the promotional work, autographs, pamphlets, song sheets, and some of the freebies from those shows. Opening lyrics of Chorus: She drives me crazy/in Satin Supreme/sexy, shape-huggin'/better than jeans!!! Not everything is on the Internet. Try Googling the lyrics for the songs that Lindsay Wagner sang on "The Bionic Woman." I did those too. Same for odd movies where I had to take down the lyrics frame-by-frame b/c there was no soundtrack listings found online. That's just another reason I am unique on AiR as the other authors do not go to that length to get unconventional song materials. Btw AP, what poetry, hymns, kid songs, commercials, tv theme songs, and unconventional materials have you used? Where is your author sheet? (I hear the sound of crickets chirping... as usual) ;-)

I didn't vote because I've never heard this version of "She Drives Me Crazy" I too thought it was going to be the same version as FYC's and just that another band had done it but upon reading the parody I found this wasn't the case anyway that's an interesting story about the OS you've got there and I commend you for doing songs that not everybody (in this case including me) would know! ;)
