The Lyrics

Even though I wasn't mentioned in it, I felt compelled to respond to the parody posted yesterday by OMR . . . http://www.amiright.com/parody/misc/thecoasters22.shtml .

If you don't listen to the OS while reading this, or if you do but don't understand what my parody is getting at, then my point has been made . . .
I was drinking up some serious Beam
Where gluttons upchuck and they're crocked
Parroting strayed clowns, getting stupid
I'd come to a parodist's block
Wasn’t thinking of penning things terrific
Like in a scene where someone makes up with fiends
Nothing too scary, sly and cryptic
Just thinking up some serious themes

Themes where the numb fellow sits molting
And into the past he has curled
Where the tarts are so lewd and revolting
Undressed there, buns that strut and swirl

In one, the serpent was posin'
In another, I lip-sync'd a mime
In one, I was humming into an udder
All my themes rudely screwing with rhyme
Wasn’t nookie or any vessel of mischief
And not crowing to win a grateful queen
Hide was shredding, drawn and listless
Just shrinking from some serious schemes

Schemes where the ones-fellow is trolling
Akin to the wrath of a churl
And the bards are so crude, they're extolling
The chest hair on a rubber girl

I’d already spawned my best stuff
Just shrinking from those serious schemes
Just thinking up some serious themes
Just drinking up some serious Beam

Nothing wrong with a parody about lewd & revolting tarts (as long as it's well paced). It's a fave theme of mine (writing & reading).
I played the OS because I'd never heard it before (& hope I never hear it again!) I like some early Dylan, but that was awful.
Here's 5.55 grammes of Northern Lights to open up your mind, man, and get the creativity flowing again.

Some serious parody here. Jim Beam is one (just one of many) of our native Kentucky libations. Bourbon was named for Bourbon County Kentucky where it was first distilled. The county was named for the House of Bourbon. Anyway, 555 proof! ;D
