Parody Song Title:

"Dove Awards Overdominance (Natalie Grant's Eyes)"

Parody Written by:

At last, I have reached my 50th parody. This one spoofs Natalie Grant's dominance at the Gospel Music Association's (GMA) Dove Awards--at least in the Female Vocalist of the Year category, that is. If she wins FVOY this year, it will tarnish the reputation of older female artists such as Twila Paris (before Natalie, the last FVOY three-peater), Sandi Patty (most in history with eleven straight) and Amy Grant (with whom I have successfully reconciled and is no relation to Natalie). Anyway, I hold nothing personally against Natalie, other than that she is upstart and didn't deserve to win more than once thus far. How Christian music has degenerated!
Stanza I.
You can bust my spleen
WIth songs sung by Steve Green,
Like "Find Us Faithful" and "He Holds the Keys;"
And you can do me wrong
With new-look Avalon
If even Greg Long wants to sing with me.
You can leave me bland
With David Crowder Band
When all they do is sing their cheesy praise,
Or you can torture me
With songs by SCC
LIke "When Love Takes You In" and then "This Day."

Refrain.
But don't show no prize
To Natalie Grant's eyes;
I don't think she deserves it yet.
Oh, should you have her win,
It must be called a sin
'Cos it will make me all upset.

Stanza II.
Give it to Amy Grant;
Her music's never scant;
'Bout Sandi Patty we can say the same.
What's more, the voters know
That Twila Paris goes
So well with me, her music's never lame.
It's not just older songs
With which I'll sing along;
I also like Francesca Battistelli.
I'd gladly cut some slack
For Mister tobyMac
And White Heart's songs for good always compel me.
Memo to the GMA: There are six artists, including Sandi and Francesca, who deserve FVOY awards more than Natalie.

I'm sorry, but I cannot agree with this line of thinking. A real Christian wouldn't care who won the Dove Awards as long as the lyrics were reverent and in keeping with Biblical principles. And I'm tired of the same people anyway. And what has Amy Grant recorded lately that was inspirational? So why should someone win an Award just because you personally like them better. If you're that P.O.ed, become a judge. Otherwise, Natalie Grant is just as deserving as the others...at least in God's eyes.
