Song Parodies -> "Walt Newell"

Original Song Title:

"I Love You"

Original Performer:

Barney and the Backyard Gang

Parody Song Title:

"Walt Newell"

Parody Written by:

Robert D. Arndt Jr.

The Lyrics

Obscure Marvel Superhero... yet still better than Aquaman!
Walt Newell,
Loves the sea,
Gifted oceanographer with a Ph.D
Had some luck,
With an exoskeletal suit,
Became Stingray and bolts he shoots!

Walt Newell,
Something's fishy,
Like Torpedo Man likes anonymity
In sea tough,
But on land he's of little use,
His suit always seems to run out of juice!

Oh well, there's always mutant Namor...

Hmm, let's see. Does Gifted oceanographer with a PHD match the pace of We're one happy family? IT DOES!! Give this song 15 Fives!!!

True. But can you sing it like the OS at roughly the same pace? Of course. Added syllables don't matter unless you're anal.

This is superb! Do you know the Barney song? Why don't you write a few gems with extra syllables every day, using I Love You as the OS? (Watch out! Here comes the résumé.)

Well, first off, I have more than 650 individual artists which is more than most parodists here. And I do have some songs I parody in blocks as JAB has done. Songs from Screamin' Jay Hawkins, Willie Nelson, and others from commercials and theme songs. So what? I did these last six "I Love You" to mock a commentator from Friday and to pass 3400 parodies (3401). What I chose to write about and which songs I use is my business. I'm amazed at all the wasted effort by commentators here that could be spending their time writing parodies instead. I am a production machine and make no apologies. I modify lyrics, add syllables. and comments. If you don't like it, don't click on my links, don't state your opinions. I write parodies as a hobby. AiR is not my life, although I like a lot of people here and like sharing information with my choice of topics. OK?

What did I tell you?
I am a comment production machine. I have commented on 1,074 parodies, which puts me in the top 10. Most commenters aren't even close. I haven't even mentioned comment fragments. Commenting is my hobby. If you ask to see my artist page, my comment is "No comment." Come on. Admit it. You like me.

Jeez-A-Loo! alright so the pacing's not PERFECT but it's close enough! as Rob said it can be sung at roughly the same pace! 455

I hit this up to see who the heck Walt Newell was. Sounded familiar. Sure enough, it was Walter Newell who is Stingray. One of Marvel's older superheroes associated with the Submariner. He was in issue #19 back in '69. He was with the Defenders too.
