The Lyrics

The Avro Arrow was the greatest interceptor of the late 1950s and arguably the best looking warplane in history. Five aircraft were built RL-201 through RL-205 with a sixth 93% complete. But in February 1959, the program was cancelled abruptly on what is known as Black Friday for the Canadian aerospace industry. All six planes were ordered scrapped and all plans and tooling to be destroyed. Yet there is persistent rumor that one escaped destruction- RL-202. There is some claimed proof. Two MB ejection seats from the Arrow survived in UK in used condition estimated at hundreds of hours to 1000 hrs. Not possible if the aircraft was destroyed. One eyewitness claims to have seen an unmarked Arrow land in the UK at an airbase while another familiar with the Iroquois engine noise claimed to hear an Arrow pass over her house in Toronto on the date of cancellation. Photos of the aircraft the day before show all 5 on the line. Photos afterward are all missing RL-202. Many believe the aircraft went to the US for testing before being shipped to the UK. I have no opinion on the matter.
202,
Mystery,
Did an Avro Arrow escape scrapping?
Yes, Black Friday sucked,
Cancellation spelt Canuck doom,
CF-105 was a delta that zoomed!

202,
In safety?
Hidden away for posterity?
With some luck,
W.A. Curtis leaked away one flew,
Someday this bird just might be viewed...
RL-206 nose section and 2 wing sections from RL-203 survived as museum pieces and a replica was built for an airport.

I've only heard this once in my youth by a RCAF pilot as if telling a tall tale. But when I built the 201 as model, I noticed that the scrapping photos didn't feature the 202. It's missing out of the line. As for engine noise, that's quite true IF you know the type of aircraft, number of engines, and audio profile based on other types of aircraft. The CF-100 and CF-105 definitely sound nothing alike. The Orenda Iroquois is distinct. Like all modelers who know aviation well, the Arrow was a beauty. The only thing that comes close IMO is the Vulcan in white anti-flash paint. 5s

In the destruction lineup, only four of five were present: 205, 201, 203, and 204. 202 was missing. 206 was not fully built and had its nose section to the inlets cut for preservation in a museum. A company called Beaverworks is trying to build a Super Arrow drone for today...

It'd be funny if the show did these parodies as educational segments. 5's

5s, and a bit of an apology. I know I said my new parody would be up today, but for some reason or another, it's not. I don't know what happened, I submitted it last night, but today it's nowhere to be found! I have contacted ChuckyG about it, and am currently awaiting a reply. it's my thought that, perhaps since it wasn't exactly G-Rated, it didn't make the cut for regular amiright? in that case, I would need to re-submit it to WhatFreaks. which would be a first for me, but I'll do. after all, a promise is a promise, and this parody is one I promised you a while back! hopefully, we can get this straightened out by monday!

Thanks guys! Btw, Jon, same has happened to me before. If you had some questionable content, maybe you could edit it and resubmit.

The magnificent Avro Arrow rollout of RL-201 in 1957: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Avro_Arrow_rollout.jpg

Just learned this today. RL-202 was scrapped like the rest of them on Death Row. On page 125 of the book "Avro Scrapbook" it shows in color the removal of 202's nose even as 204's engines are being removed. It did not escape. 201 through 206 were scrapped. Some suggest components from each were shipped by sea to UK to cobble together a 207. I'm not gonna touch that one!

This is, without a doubt, the greatest parody ever written on AIR, except for the other parodies by this author. You know why? Cop a gander at the scores! Just look at all those straight 5s! A difficult OS. Hilarious parody. Again, just look at all those straight 5s for Funny! And talk about Pacing! This don't need no stinkin' pacing! Content? We don't need no stinkin' content. Just read the header.
