Another one I unearthed from my archives after neglecting to post it aeons ago... This is, quite obviously, an ode to the Segway, that gloriously geeky transport-ish-type 'thing' beloved of the likes of 'Mythbuster' Adam Savage. Here in the UK you can book Segway Tours of various beauty spots now (Leeds Castle, near where I live, has been offering them for a couple of years.) Officially the funniest-looking tourist party you will ever see ;^)

Many police Depts in the US use Segways for urban patrols downtown and ticket-writing. But I haven't seen many around town. Most here ride motorcycles and soem scooters, but the Spyder three-wheelers are popular. Great parody-555!

This was funny. Every time I see real mall cops on these it reminds me of the movie. Always a funny mode of transportation

I've never seen a Segway, so the picture was a good idea. Now I know. And now I can say I've heard 'Back Street Boys'.

Lighthearted and novel stuff as usual with some funny lines and the pacing closely subbed. I liked 'born to be wild' and the 'ten-mile tailback'. I challenge you to follow the OS rhyme phonetics more, though (not that it's mandatory). I'm voting 544 because I found the concept mildly interesting.

Wow! This was right clever, Wendy. I was a little lost with your lyrics at first, but I listened to the OS and they matched up quite well. I never paid attention to the lyrics of this song before -- to me, this song was just background noise

Thanks for all the lovely comments, everyone - much appreciated as always :^) Normally I'd have left this one well alone, having already heard Weird Al's brilliant 'eBay' parody of the OS (he's an uber-tough act to follow!) but once I had the title swirling round my head I had to exorcise it onto a 'page' somewhere.

@Lifeliver: what a 'kindly' person I am, aren't I, introducing you to all these vapid boyband songs over the past few months? ;^) The only reason I'd ever want a Segway is because I can't ride a bike. But then I'd probably find some way to fall off a Segway as well..!
