The Lyrics

Little-known proposed rival to American Barbie doll. Threatened with instant lawsuit, it was never realized. But boy, she was posh!
[Spoken]
Hi, Darby
Hi, Alistair
Do you wanna go for a ride in my Jag?
Sure, Alistair
Jump in...

I'm your Darby girl in my Darby world
My bosoms are fantastic, like me, their plastic
Londoner I swear, tartans I do wear
Let's go West End swinging, I'm a sure thing
Come on, Darby, let's snog, be naughty!

I'm your Darby girl in my Darby world
My bosoms are fantastic, like me, their plastic
Londoner I swear, tartans I do wear
Let's go West End swinging, I'm a sure thing

I'm a blond upscale girl in a high fashion world
Dress me up, do it right, I feel randy
I'm your doll, when you call, I perform as I pour you your drink
Kiss me here, touch me there, shag me fancy
You can touch, you can play, if you buy me diamonds and furs

(uu-oooh-u) [2x]

I'm your Darby girl in my Darby world
My bosoms are fantastic, like me, their plastic
Londoner I swear, tartans I do wear
Let's go West End swinging, I'm a sure thing

Come on, Darby, let's go party!
(ah-ah-ah-yeah)
Come on, Darby, piss off paparazzi!
(uu-oooh-u) [2x]
Come on, Darby, let's go party!
(ah-ah-ah-yeah)
Come on, Darby, in my Maserati
(uu-oooh-u) [2x]

Love my walk, love my talk, do whatever you want
I can act like a star, be as posh as I please
Come join in, bimbo friend, that buxom American (Barbie)
London town, fool around, swingers party
You can touch, you can play, you & me, easy lays
You can touch, you can play, 'cause we're both prozzy whores!

Come on, Darby, let's go party!
(ah-ah-ah-yeah)
Come on, Darby, piss off paparazzi!
(uu-oooh-u) [2x]
Come on, Darby, let's go party!
(ah-ah-ah-yeah)
Come on, Darby, see my Jaguar E-Type
(uu-oooh-u) [2x]

I'm your Darby girl in my Darby world
My bosoms are fantastic, like me, their plastic
Londoner I swear, tartans I do wear
Let's go West End swinging, I'm a sure thing

I'm your Darby girl in my Darby world
My bosoms are fantastic, like me, their plastic
Londoner I swear, tartans I do wear
Let's go West End swinging, I'm a sure thing

Come on, Darby, let's go party!

(Ah-ah-ah-yeah)
Come on, Darby, let's go horseback riding
(uu-oooh-u) [2x]
Come on, Darby, some Fox hunting
(ah-ah-ah-yeah)
Come on, Darby, swing that body!
(uu-oooh-u) [2x]

[Spoken]
Oh, I'm having so much fun!
Well, Darby, we're just bred that way
Oh, I love you, Alistair

Is this the same as the Winholt Doll? Sounds vaguely familiar.

I honestly don't know. I remember the doll from an article in a collectors magazine back when I owned 3 Bild Lilli dolls as an investment that later paid off well. I needed to rhyme Barbie and I remembered Darby. Sorry.

Her name was Darby Alexandria Trenton. Winholt designed the doll in 1966 with plans to produce it by 1969. Lawsuits kept it buried and only two preproduction dolls were made. Darby's measurements were more realistic at 37-25-36. Winholt went out of business in 1971. No one knows what happened to the dolls. If they surface they could be worth £6000 each.
