Dad had a bumper sticker on our old Chevy that read I Ain't Fonda Jane! I once read that one of her husbands was a self-appointed ambassador for North Korea! What's wrong with these people?

I wonder if anyone ever identified the AA gun? Hard to tell as the NVA used a wide range, but it might be a ZS-23-2... best guess.

I once did a parody on another site on this subject called "Help Us, Fonda" (based on the OS "Help Me Rhonda.") It had one or two good lines -- Well, Uncle Ho was down cause Nixon had 'im on the run (da da da da da daa da -- da da da daa da da) Then Janie came around and sat down at an ack ack gun (;-D)

Jane probably thinks she is a more mature and skilled actress/thespian after all these decades. However, one of her first films is BARBARELLA - a cheap Z-grade sci-fi sexploitation cult classic from the 60s that highlights her as a "sex kitten" / vixen / goddess in interstellar space and there's some brief nudity as well. She'd probably like to put it all in the distant past but there's a very popular band that will remind her of BARBARELLA because this band is named after that movie's renegade villain. May I introduce to you, the Fab Five, DURAN DURAN.

Both Raquel Welch and Italian actress Virna Lisi turned down the role (Lisi was ordered to play the part and terminated her contract with UA over it). The sci-fi comic was the first to be made into a feature film as Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers were serials. Barbarella's costume was inspired by Paco Rabanne and the city of SoGo was short for SOdom and GOmorrah! As far as Fonda forgetting it, no way! She tried to get a sequel done in the '70s and failed and then a remake with her in a supporting role to a new actress. Even in old age, she wants to be in any remake. The originator of the comic based his character on Bardot.
